Hipster Lemur

This lil guy was fun to paint, but a little scary to stare at those eyes! This one has a outremer blue border, which of course is still an electric blue but not a neon...what do you guys think of this color combo? I was a little disappointed in it initially but it's starting to grow on me.

Neon Yellow Orangutan

Another addition to the series...neon yellow border which of course didn't get captured very well by my camera, but you guys get the gist of it =)

Neon Hipster Deer and Polka Dots

Here's another addition to the series! Unfortunately my camera just refuses to capture neon, but that IS neon pink =)

Hipster Polka Dot Meerkat

Here's #4 in the series, a meerkat! This has been super fun, I'm thinking of painting more in this style...they look so fun and bright but it's so hard to photograph these to really show the bright, neon colors.

Neon Hipster Series

I've painted 2 more in the neon hipster polka dot series, these have been so much fun to do! I just wish the camera could capture the neon cause they look so cool and bright!

The second of the series is of a mallard duck, and the third is a sloth...let me know what you guys think of them!

Neon Hipster Polka Dot Bird

I originally wanted to paint this bird with a soft oval background, but decided on a strong turquoise instead. Right when I was about to paint it I decided to add the neon edges for a punch of color, but when I was done it just didn't look that great. So I added the yellow polka dots and loved how it turned out =)

I'm selling the original painting on my etsy shop for $30, and I'm thinking of doing a series with different animals but with neon oval backgrounds and polka dots. Let me know if you guys think it's a cute idea!

My new obsession lately has been to paint fish, so I thought I'd share with ya'll some of the paintings I've done recently. It's been fun experimenting and finding new techniques to paint these fish, I'll post process pics of each individual fish in later posts =)

Original llama watercolor pen sketch

This was a super fun piece, I drew the llama in pen (BIC pen) and added some watercolor to make this painting really stand out. The mountains at the bottom are of Nepal.

It was really fun to paint this one because I took my paints outdoors and sat outside in the warm sun painting =)

I'm selling the original artwork on my etsy shop for $25 here. (I can include a frame for $5 extra).

Watercolor Lettering Painting - Something Beautiful is on the Horizon

I got some new watercolor paints and wanted to do something with this beautiful blue. This is what I came up with - a inspirational quote that says "Something Beautiful is on the Horizon".

Vintage Chanel Watercolor

I saw this vintage Chanel purse and just had to paint it. It was early on Sunday morning and I was in a happy mood so I decided to add flowers to the painting. It was really fun to paint and I like how happy it turned out.

On my etsy shop, painting AND frame included for $28 here.

Watercolor Trout - Hipster Art

I wanted start a series of paintings that were pretty much monochromatic and hunting related, so first up was this trout! I love using color so even though this turquoise color is so gorgeous and vibrant, I missed using OTHER colors and couldn't help but add on the tiniest touch of pink to it's body. I really liked how this turned out overall since I've never painted a fish before.

On my etsy shop WITH the frame included for $28 here.

Neon Ombre Mason Jar - Summer Inspired

I did this last weekend and really love how this turned out! I was thinking how it was spring and it's pretty soon going to be summer, so I wanted to do a jar that reflected these colors.

The pictures don't even come close to capturing how gorgeous this came out in real life, I can't stop staring at this jar!

I'm selling this jar for $17 on my etsy shop here.

Neon Pink Ombre Mason Jar

I spent part of this weekend making this mason jar, I LOVE painting mason jars it's sooo fun! This one has a slight ombre effect with white spray paint highlighting the words and contrasting nicely with the neon pin. I then frayed the edges of a gorgeous Chinese floral fabric and sewed on little seed beads to add a fun touch to the neck of the jar.

Overall I really liked how this turned out and can't wait to make a couple more similar to this...I want to use bigger beads next time though because it's so painstakingly slow to sew the tiny seed beads. I'm also going to play around with different colored jars.

Let me know what you guys think of it or if there's any color schemes you would like to see!

I'm selling this on my etsy for $17 which you can get here.

Celine Purse Art

I've lusted over the Celine luggage totes for quite awhile now, this particular one I painted is new for 2013 Summer collection. This painting surprisingly took a looonngg time, probably because it's so small and detailed. I love the color combination of this purse though and would love to OWN it instead of just having a painting of it!

I'm actually planning on doing a series of 10 most iconic handbags and this piece is part of that series. So far I have:

1. Hermes Birkin
2. Chanel 2.55
3. Celine Luggage
4. (Upcoming) Balenciaga City
5. (Upcoming) Louis Vuitton Speedy

Would you like to give some suggestions on what you'd like to see illustrated in the "Top 10 most iconic bags"? Leave it in the comments, I'd love to see what people consider! =)

I also sell original custom purse pieces on my etsy shop here for $30, and I'll be making prints soon of my 10 iconic purses.
You can see how tiny the painting is compared to an eraser.
Pencil sketch first.
It was fun painting that little leather line that the luggages are known for.
Painted everything dark black before I "removed" areas to highlight the bag.
Tada...end result!
